5 Healthy Promises I Decided to Make to Myself
It’s easy to get caught up and forget about your health and wellbeing.
Between work, family, friends, and general life, it’s easy to stop doing the things that are not only good for you, but vital to living a long, healthy life.

Here are just a few of those reminders.
1. Drink at least 60 oz. of water a day
It’s crazy that such a small thing can make such a huge difference. I often compare myself to a camel, so I can literally go all day without an ounce of water and never realize it. And that’s really bad for you.
Drinking half of your weight in ounces every day will ensure your body works as it should. You’ll notice you have more energy, your skin will clear up (if it’s anything like mine), you won’t replace eating with being thirsty (and therefore watch your weight) and so, so much more.
2. Move my body every day
My job is stagnant. I work on a computer from home so the couch is often my office. That means I have to make time to move my body.
Whether it’s a quick Pinterest workout or simply doing some quick stretches, it’ll make your body happy to move. You can also try a walk around the block at lunch time or just randomly to break up your day.

3. Connect with friends and family (and the outside world)
If we’re not here for each other, who are we here for? (And really, I believe that’s the meaning of life.) Do what you can to connect with friends and family, it’ll mean all the difference to them…and to you.
4. Do yoga
I talk a lot about the benefits of yoga and meditation. I really can’t say enough good things about it.
If you don’t enjoy either, then find something else that calms your body. It’s important for all of us to wind down when we move so quickly through life and are busy with so many other things. Mindfulness is truly a beautiful thing.
5. Unplug
I do web marketing for a living, so I get it. There are very few moments during the day when I’m not within an arms length of my phone or my computer (or both).
Remember to take the time to unplug and be with family and friends (see #3) or just be by yourself (see #4). It’s nice to go back to the days before we were taking pictures of every moment and documenting them online (and I’m the first to admit I do it). Unplug for a few precious moments or hours…or even the whole day. You’ll be glad you did!
