DIY Friday: How to Create a Wine Cork Board Bucket List
Today was the day. I finally had gathered enough corks to make a bucket list cork board!
My roommate and I saw a similar project one of our friends had created and we thought it was brilliant; so we decided to create our own spin on it. With wine corks, of course!
Note: You can certainly create just the cork board without having it be a bucket list.
What you need for this project:
- A picture frame with some sort of backing (it will need to be sturdy, so you may need to purchase a thin piece of board)
- Enough wine corks to fill the board
- Hot glue gun, wood glue, or another type of glue that will work with your mediums
- Any wording if you’d like (e.g. I used “Bucket List” at the top)
- A bucket
- Push pins
Before you begin, you’ll want to make sure you have enough corks. It took some time to gather enough (I had to work hard to get all of these!)
Also, be sure to do make any changes you’d like to the picture frame itself before gluing. For example, I spray painted my picture frame white.
Add the bucket
If you’re making a bucket list, the easiest way I found to attach it was with some twine around the bottom of the frame.
Get to gluing
Lay out all of your corks within the frame and on your hard (and sturdy) backing as you want them. I found that I liked the way the corks looked without having them in any particular order, but that’s your personal decision to make!
Glue on your letters
If you’re going the bucket list route, add your “Bucket List” label.
Hang and start pinning!
And it’s as easy as that! Now hang, and add your pins.
If you’re also creating a bucket list, add all of the things you want to do and then drop them into the bucket once you’re done!
