Fun Things to Do in Nassau: Graycliff Hotel & Restaurant Wine Luncheon
Recently, my boyfriend was sweet enough to surprise me with a cruise to celebrate our one-year anniversary. Since we’d both been to Nassau before, I wanted to do something special that neither of us have done before.
After stumbling upon this post about things to do in Nassau for lovers, I decided to contact the Graycliff Restaurant and learn more about their wine luncheon. While it’s a little pricey ($125/person), it was completely 110% worth it.
Your luncheon begins with this delicious little cocktail.
From the resort’s traditional sitting room…
…you’ll head off on your tour of the rest of the historic home.
From there, you’ll head into one of Graycliff’s most mentionable traits – and my favorite part – the wine cellar. This cellar, which used to be a dungeon, houses more than 250,000 bottles of wine and is worth more than $20,000,000! Some bottles were worth over $200,000 apiece.
After the jaw dropping cellar, you’ll visit the cigar factory where you get to watch workers hand rolling cigars.
And we mustn’t forget about the onsite chocolatier with tons of delicious treats!
When it was finally time to sit down for our wine luncheon, we continued to be surprised with delicious plate paired with delicious wine, one right after the next.
At the end of the day, we got to meet some great people – who, as it turns out – travel to vineyards all over the country and the world. (Check out what they’re doing over at The Vineyard Trail.)
Not only that, but we also lucked out by getting to meet the owner of the Graycliff, himself: Mr. Enrico Garzaroli!
Such an amazing experience and I highly recommend it for anyone adventuring to Nassau!
