“In this moment, I am happy.”
I talk a lot about the idea of “happiness,” whether it’s allowing yourself to be happy or taking a single step and being happier.
Why do I talk about it so much?
When most of us sit down and think about the never ending question of “what we want in life,” is happiness not right there at the top of the list? So it makes sense that talking about happiness or finding ways to be happy is important.

The other day I got to thinking: since so many of us are convinced we need the next thing or need to achieve our next goal in order to achieve “true” happiness, we very rarely just sit and appreciate being happy in a single moment.
As this thought passed, all I could do was say to myself: “In this moment, I am happy.” And guess what? It felt amazing.
Create a mantra
None of us do it enough – simply take a deep breath and say “In this moment, I am happy.” Your mantra doesn’t have to be the same as mine; so do what works for you.
Whether you say it to yourself or even have a post-it on your bathroom mirror, sometimes it’s important just to take a moment and think happy thoughts.

Meditate
The reason so few of us stop to smell the roses is just that: few of us stop…ever.
I’ve been reading a lot lately about meditation and how it’s coming back to the forefront of dealing with stress and overall well being.
The truth is meditation has always been important; whether you just take a few moments every day to close your eyes and do nothing but breathe, consistently do a yoga practice, or simply go for a walk on the beach. These are all forms of meditation and all ways to be a happier, healthier you.
Revel
There will always be sad moments, unlucky moments, and downright depressing moments in life. It’s the nature of the beast.
Taking those precious minutes to revel in a happy mood could make all the difference, and it’s a habit that is well worth creating.
I’ll leave you with something fun (and happy!)…because who doesn’t love this song?!
