Get Ready for Spring & Summer Breaks as a Mom Entrepreneur

As mompreneurs, our work-life balance is always a delicate juggling act. But when the kids are home for spring and summer breaks, this act can become even more challenging.

How do we keep the business humming while making sure that the family gets quality time? Here are a few tips to help you plan ahead and make the most of your next break.

Get Ready for Spring & Summer Breaks as a Mom Entrepreneur

Set Your Priorities Ahead of Time

First things first: know what you want to accomplish during the upcoming school break.

  • Are you looking to catch up on projects?
  • Make progress on some new initiatives?
  • Take a much-needed vacation?

Setting your priorities ahead of time will help you stay focused and organized throughout the break, let alone set intentions for the time.

That way, when it comes time to get back in the groove, you won’t feel like your head is spinning. (It can be tempting to try to do it all at once but don’t fall into that trap!)

Use Technology To Stay Connected

It’s no secret that we live in an age of amazing technological advances—use them! With tools like Skype, Zoom, and Slack, keeping in touch with colleagues and clients is easier than ever before.

Use these tools to review projects, tackle questions or just check in with each other during spring and summer school breaks. That way, you can take care of business without having to sacrifice quality family time (or vice versa).

Schedule Fun Activities With Your Family

As important as it is to stay connected with colleagues and clients during breaks, it’s also essential to make time for fun activities with your family too.

When planning out your weeks ahead of time, make sure that there are plenty of opportunities for everyone in the family to bond together — whether that means going out for movie nights or carving out special one-on-one time with each kid.

The key here is that everyone feels heard and appreciated while they still get plenty of chances to relax and have fun together as a family.

Spring and summer breaks can be stressful times for mom entrepreneurs who are trying their best to juggle both their professional commitments and their home responsibilities. But with proper planning and foresight (and maybe a bit of technology!), moms can have successful and enjoyable breaks without sacrificing any crucial work tasks or precious family moments.

So go ahead—put down that laptop and pick up those beach towels; it’s high time for some well-deserved R&R!
