Writing for the web \u2013 including blogging \u2013 is different than most other types of writing, such as newspapers and magazines or literature. There are a few reasons we love blogging and here are a few out of the box ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. If at first you don\u2019t succeed; try, try again<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Picture it: you\u2019ve meticulously put together the<\/em> perfect blogpost. You\u2019ve done your research. You\u2019ve scrutinized every word, every semicolon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ve expertly balanced the amount of need-to-know information with enough wit and charm that will keep readers interested throughout the entire post. Then you hit publish and wait expectantly while the visitors and comments start flooding in. Maybe they do. But maybe\u2026they don\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And here\u2019s the good news: with a blog, that\u2019s ok!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow up with your posts in your Analytics to see how much traction each one gained. Keep doing what\u2019s working and stop doing what\u2019s not. Or, take a different approach: try the same subject, but do a different take on it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. It\u2019s OK if things overlap<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t think of a blogpost as having to be a completely new thought or idea. (Because really, how many \u201cnew\u201d ideas are really new?)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, blogposts are individual pages \u2013 so remember that not every single person is going to see every single post. So, let\u2019s say you write a post on \u201c10 Ways to Better Organize Your Home Office\u201d. You could easily later write a post about \u201cOrganizing Your Home Office: 5 Dos and Don\u2019ts\u201d. Is it the same subject? Sure! Might some things overlap? Sure! But it\u2019s a new take on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
