I recently read a great Ebook from Hubspot called \u201cConversion Centered Design.\u201d<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In it, Hubspot gives helpful advice for converting your website\u2019s or your landing page\u2019s visitors by using key design features as well as simple tricks that work. Here are some of my major takeaways from the Ebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Design first<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Use contrast, color, dominant subject matter, directional cues or pathways (think of when someone is looking at something in a photo, your eye immediately follows their gaze), white space, to help guide your visitor to taking the steps you want to on your landing page<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep 5 things above the fold in your landing or conversion page<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
  1. Powerful headline that grabs your readers<\/li>
  2. Supporting sub-heading<\/li>
  3. Brief description of benefits with supporting bullets<\/li>
  4. Call to action<\/li>
  5. Urgency statement<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Don\u2019t be afraid of buzzwords<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Certain words are going to be more powerful than others on your landing page, so don\u2019t be afraid to use them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • \u201cYou\u201d (instead of me\/us)<\/li>
    • \u201cFree\u201d<\/li>
    • \u201cBecause\u201d<\/li>
    • \u201cInstantly\u201d<\/li>
    • \u201cNew\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
