Since I\u2019ve gotten so much out of speaking,&nbsp;here are the top five reasons why you should be speaking to grow your business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img src=\"https:\/\/nickiong.com\/app\/uploads\/2021\/03\/female-speaker-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-531\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2>1. Establish your expertise.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First things first, speaking will put you in front of a group of people \u2013 whether big or small \u2013 and allow you to showcase yourself as&nbsp;<em>the<\/em>&nbsp;expert in your niche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The takeaway here is to make sure you speak on a topic you feel comfortable talking about, with the ability to answer your audience\u2019s questions on the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>2. Practice (and perfect) your pitch.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, there is&nbsp;always room for practice. I personally find that speaking offers a wonderful opportunity for streamlining your \u201celevator pitch,\u201d sales pitch, or simply the way you explain a certain concept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s more is the more you speak, the more comfortable you\u2019ll be with your pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<script async=\"\" data-uid=\"9a4e83d7d9\" src=\"https:\/\/nickiong.ck.page\/9a4e83d7d9\/index.js\"><\/script>\n<br>\n\n\n\n<h2>3. Grow your reach.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Every speaking opportunity offers you the benefit of putting yourself in front of people who may not have heard of you (and your business) otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you start thinking of very specific conferences you could speak at, look for the ones filled with your target audience. With a room full of your ideal customers, you really can\u2019t ask for a better way to reach them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>4. Experiment with giveaways and promotions.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if you\u2019re standing in front of a room full of your ideal audience, speaking at an event&nbsp;<em>does not<\/em>&nbsp;ensure you\u2019ll get work or sell your product(s) because of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, giveaways or promotions are a great way to hook your audience. Try white papers (that subscribe people to your email list), small freebies (with your information on them!), and other creative ways to grab attention to get a phone call and\/or make a sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>5. Network.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Last but certainly not least, speaking is excellent for great networking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I always say: even if I haven\u2019t made a sale as a result of a conference, if I make one good connection, that will often lead to a sale in the future. In that regard, it makes the time and energy used for the speaking engagement entirely worth it in my mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a speaker, you\u2019re even that much more likely to do great networking, as plenty of your audience members will want to chat or have questions. (For my introverts out there, this is great news for you: you\u2019ll have people coming to you, not the other way around!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you\u2019ve never\u00a0thought about speaking at an event \u2013 or are perhaps a little nervous to do so \u2013 these five reasons should definitely convince you to\u00a0consider speaking. Start small and grow from there. You\u2019ll only benefit your business!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group wp-block-post-footer\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns\">\n<div
