How to Lose the Sunday Blues
If you’re like me, then you have at least one day a week that’s meant for catching up on chores and doing other things you don’t have time for throughout the week, like sleeping in or watching a few hours of bad TV. Sunday is typically my day of choice for both.
It’s nice to get a little relaxing time in or getting some things done around the house, but that usually means a lot of time indoors.
Sure, you may be checking items off your to-do list, but being stuck inside all day can give anyone cabin fever, so here are my quick fixes to avoid those “Sunday blues”.

Get some fresh air.
A little fresh air and being outside can do wonders and there are plenty of things you can do that won’t take all day long! So if it’s a nice day, get outside and…
- Take the dog (or yourself!) for a walk or run.
- Have a picnic.
- Go to the local farmer’s market.
- Go for a bike ride.
- Meet some friends for lunch or dinner and sit outside.
- Take the kids to a park or a playground.
- Sit outside and read a book.
Get dressed and go somewhere, anywhere!
If you know me, you know that ideally I’d be in a t-shirt and sweats all day every day if I could, but there’s something about getting ready and putting fresh clothes on that can perk anyone up. After, it’s nice to just go somewhere…anywhere!
- Run errands like grocery shopping.
- Get a cocktail with friends.
- Buy a Groupon or Living Social voucher and try something new.
- Get a group of friends together and walk around in the downtown area closest to you.
Those are just a few of my fixes. What are your favorite cures for cabin fever blues?
