5 Tips for a Better Cruising Experience
After going on a few cruises, I realized that if there’s one thing that makes a trip phenomenal, it’s being able to 110% relax and enjoy the time you have on vacation.
And there are a few key ways I’ve learned you can make that happen – 5 ways in fact. Let’s get to them!

1. Do your homework
Good cruisers start by getting an awesome deal. After all, who doesn’t want to save some money on a vacation?!
Check out sites like cruise.com to see if you can get a great deal. (If you are a Florida resident or in the military, you can typically get even better deals.)
Then, cross reference deal sites with the actual cruise line sites; you may find the actual cruise line is also offering a great deal. Last minute cruises are the best way to go if you can swing them; you’ll get a fantastic deal this way!

2. Get prepared
Organization is key for any successful trip and a cruise is no exception.
- Plan your packing.
- Plan excursions outside of the cruise line. While convenient, cruise line excursions are also far more expensive than those you can find by doing some simple Google searches.
- Pay things like gratuity ahead of time. This way, you won’t have to worry about it for your maid or waiter.
3. Pick the right people
Remember that you’re going to be in close quarters in your room, but won’t be spending too much time there.
Even still, remember that your roommate(s) should be people that you can spend a lot of time with. Going on a cruise in a large group is great because you can choose to spend time with certain people whenever you feel like it!
f4. Make sure work won’t be on your mind
One of my biggest rules for cruises, especially as a business owner, is to prepare by not having to do any work on the trip.
Sure, I’ll check email at the ports, but I am sure to not stress or think about work.
5. Remember there are some things you simply cannot control
Cruises are meant to be relaxing and entertaining, but such with everything in life: something will always go wrong. T
he weather may not be perfect, the special credit card you got for the trip may not work, or you may even get a little seasick – all things that have happened to me or people I’ve cruised with.
But, as one of my cheerleaders once told her teammate: accept it and move on.
Now it’s your turn! What are your best tips for cruising?!
