4 Reasons To Be Ultra-Organized When You Pack For a Trip
A few years ago, I blogged about my (pseudo?) OCD version of packing. Though it’s never steered me wrong, I realize it’s a little intense. But after reflecting on packing for the trip I’m about to take, there a few good reasons for being extra-organized for your next trip.
1. You won’t overpack.
Hello?! Flight baggage fees! Avoid extra bags by planning all of your outfits ahead of time.
2. Reduce, reuse
Similarly, planning ahead helps you get an idea of what you can re-wear during a trip. Obviously, certain items are best worn only once, but others – like this vest and scarf I’m packing – can be worn with multiple outfits. Planning is also great for shoes, in particular, as they take up so much room in a suitcase.

3. You will know exactly what you have to put on.
I take pictures of each and every outfit I pack and you know what I get to avoid when I travel? That dreaded staring at a pile of clothes trying to pick out an outfit feeling. That includes jewelry, too!
4. You can purge before anything goes in the suitcase.
As a compulsive over-packer, it’s nice to have everything out on the floor or bed before it goes in the suitcase. That way, you’ll be able to take out any clothes that won’t fit in your suitcase before packing.
