How do you deal with your sh*t?

If you’ve ever felt way too in your head, emotional beyond all belief, or like you’re going crazy…you’re not alone.

We all have our moments. And as humans, and especially as women, it’s so important that we deal. with. our. shit.

We have to take the time to get out of our heads, have “me time,” or simply reflect in whirlwind that goes on in our brains on a daily basis.

In fact, I don’t know a single woman that doesn’t need some sort of outlet outside of the day-to-day to get out of her head and back to feeling like a real person again.

Here are a few way to deal with your shit…if you don’t have a favorite already.

Spend time with girlfriends

Girl time may sound like an excuse to gossip and drink wine….and it may very well be.

But it’s so much more than that.

Communing with your fellow female does so much to bring us back to ourselves. Whether it’s to get the justification we need that we aren’t as crazy as we feel, to have some adult and fellow female time, and yes, to have a glass of wine (or two), never discount the power of spending time with your girlfriends.

Cry/scream

For me, a good outlet is crying. I don’t know what it is, but my body always feels fantastic after having a good cry. It’s as if all the pent up aggression, frustration, and anxiety simply wants to come out of my eye balls.

While this isn’t for everyone, a good cry (or even a good scream) can release a lot of tension in your body….and maybe you didn’t even know it was there!

Take a bath/spa

One of my other favorite go-tos for getting over my shit is to take a long, relaxing bath or head to the salon to get a pedicure.

There’s really nothing better than taking a little “me time” and having some relaxation time. Afterwards, you always feel zen, rested, and ready to conquer the world!

Do yoga/meditate

Meditation really doesn’t receive the glowing praise (or time) that it should. It may feel heavy or time consuming when you’ve never tried it before, but it can really be a valuable tool to get out of your head, work through your shit, and feel recharged.

If you’ve never meditated before, try searching on YouTube for prompting videos. If I’m feeling a certain way (anxious, restless, frustrated), I’ll often include those terms in my search to find something that’s directed more toward what I’m going through.

You can do the same with yoga – it’s a wonderful way to calm your body and your soul.

Exercise

Need to sweat it out? There’s literally nothing better to release tension and increase endorphins than moving your body.

If you’re feeling off, exercise is the answer. If you’re feeling frustrated, exercise is the answer. If you’re feeling anxious, exercise is the answer. If you’re feeling great, exercise is the answer.
