- What are your small business resolutions for 2014?
Sure, we all have business goals but what about this year’s resolutions? Start by asking yourself these questions:
What do I want to accomplish this year?
Many resolutions are wrought with a time commitment that is longer than the year ahead. So be specific by choosing goals that are certainly bold, but also attainable.
And don’t stop at one resolution; create several so that when you look back at the end of the year, you’ll feel good about what you’ve accomplished!
What are my fiscal goals? marketing goals? sales goals?
Fiscal: This one’s easy; we’re just talking straight numbers. Again, make sure it’s doable!
Sales: Also a numbers game. Look at your sales history from the year before and choose a lofty, yet attainable, goal.
Marketing: Are you looking to grow steadily or quickly? Marketing may just be the ticket. Look at your budget and what worked for you last year and what didn’t.
How am I going to grow my business this year?
Do you need to improve your marketing efforts? How about hiring more employees? Do you need to simply improve your sales?
Whether you’re looking to maintain and sustain or grow 100 fold, it’s important to move forward.
How am I going to be a better business owner this year?
You probably give your employees annual reviews…but how about yourself? Think about how you could be a better boss, entrepreneur, and business owner in 2014.
Whatever you choose as your 2014 resolution, make sure it’s reach-for-the-stars amazing. And be sure to keep it a little realistic, too.
