I’m forever in awe of the power of SEO and blogging.
Back in March, I published a post about How to Rebrand Your Facebook Business Page.
After going through the steps of rebranding myself, I did one of my favorite blogging tricks: document how to do something so it can help make the process even simpler for others.
Just a few months after I published the post, it was showing up on the first page of Google. 😳 Now, by the end of the year, it’s ranking #1 on the search engines!
Not only is the post itself showing up #1, but there’s also a result under the “People Also Ask” section:
What does all this mean?
First, rankings aren’t everything.
Traffic also matters.
In other words: even though a post ranks well, it doesn’t mean that it will attract traffic. Luckily, this one does; I get hundreds of visits to the post that I may not have gotten otherwise.
But traffic isn’t everything either.
I’ll be totally honest: I’m not a social media expert, nor do I want to be known as one. So while I don’t publish a lot of social media posts, this one is unique in that I include an affiliate offer for one of my favorite tools: Canva.

With just this one blogpost that ranks well and gets a fair amount of traffic, I earn residual income consistently. 🤯
What’s the takeaway for you?
There’s no questioning the power of blogging. In fact, I’d even argue that you’re missing a ton of opportunities by choosing not to blog.
You don’t have to be an affiliate to earn money either; you can simply talk about your expertise and consistently show your value to inevitably sell more products or services.
