How to be a Cheerleader for Your Brand Using SEO
As a former cheerleader and now a college cheerleading coach (those who can’t do, teach, right?), I know the power of positive thinking.
Cheerleaders use positive energy as they cheer on their team to (hopefully) a victory. They use a variety of skills in their arsenal in order to pump up the crowd.
Being a cheerleader for your brand isn’t about being the obnoxious, ditzy cheerleader that you may think of. It’s about creating a positive environment for your business…and about getting your “crowd” to join in and cheer for you too.
So how can you be a cheerleader for your brand?
If you’re a CEO or entrepreneur looking to improve your brand’s online presence, you’ll learn how to be a cheerleader for your brand using SEO. Let’s get started!

Define Your Brand’s Tone of Voice
The first step in being a cheerleader for your brand is to define its tone of voice.
What do you want your brand to represent?
What are your core values, and how do you want to communicate them?
Once you’ve identified your brand’s tone of voice, you can use it to inform your SEO strategy. For example, if your brand is all about sustainability and eco-friendliness, you can incorporate keywords related to those topics.
Be Confident About Your Brand
Confidence about yourself breeds confidence for others about you. Often, I have to tell my cheerleaders to “own” what they’re doing and be confident about it.
If you aren’t confident about your business – whether it’s your products and services, your employees, or your own work – then how are customers going to?
So be confident about your work, let customers know that they can expect top-notch work and service from your company, then follow through!

Conduct Keyword Research
Keyword research is a crucial part of any SEO strategy. Ultimately, by finding the right keywords to target, you can attract more organic traffic to your website.
▷ Start by brainstorming a list of keywords relevant to your brand and industry.
▷ Then, use tools like Google’s Keyword Planner or Ubersuggest to find out how often these keywords are searched for and how competitive they are.
▷ Finally, select keywords that have a high search volume and low competition.
Optimize Your Website
Now that you have your keywords, it’s time to optimize your website for SEO. Here are some key areas to focus on:
▷ Title tags: The title tag of a web page is what appears in the search engine results page (SERP). Ensure your title tags include your target keywords and accurately reflect the content of the page.
▷ Meta descriptions: Meta descriptions provide a summary of what a web page is about. They also appear in the SERP under the title, so make sure they’re engaging and include your target keywords.
▷ Header tags: Header tags (e.g. H1, H2, H3) help organize your content and provide structure for your web page. Use them to break up your content and include your target keywords where appropriate.
▷ Content: Your website’s content should be informative, engaging, and keyword-rich. Make sure you’re using your target keywords throughout your content, but don’t overdo it – keyword stuffing can actually hurt your SEO.
▷ Site speed: Site speed is a ranking factor for Google. Ensure your website loads quickly for a better user experience.

Ooze Passion in Your Copy
If nothing else, cheerleaders are passionate creatures. They have a love for their sport and a love for their team.
Passion, like confidence, is contagious; so talk your business up and show potential customers how passionate you are. One of the best ways to do this? Show the passion in your website copy!
You’ll find you have new customers jumping on your band wagon in no time!
Create Valuable Content
Creating valuable content is another crucial part of an SEO strategy and brand cheerleading. By producing high-quality content that’s relevant to your target audience, you can attract more organic traffic to your website.
This, in turn, can of course help increase your brand’s visibility and authority. Consider starting a blog or creating other types of content — such as videos or infographics. Don’t forget to make sure your content is shareable and optimized for SEO.
Get Customers Excited for Your Brand
How can you get customers excited? By being excited yourself!!
Think about it. When’s the last time you were in a store and a sales associate was blasé about the product or brand? It’s not a great sell, right?
What about the last time the associate was excited and, in turn, you got excited? You’re suddenly on your way to being a loyal customer.
Monitor Your Results
Finally, monitoring your SEO results and adjusting as needed is critical. Use tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console to track your website’s performance and identify areas for improvement.
Keep an eye on your organic traffic, keyword rankings, and conversion rates. If you’re not seeing the results you want, don’t be afraid to experiment with different strategies until you find what works best for your brand.
Confidence, passion, and excitement. They’re all inter-related, but a good lesson from the cheerleader in me to the one in you.
Being a cheerleader for your brand using SEO takes time and effort, but the benefits are well worth it. By defining your brand’s tone of voice, conducting keyword research, optimizing your website, creating valuable content, and monitoring your results, you can improve your brand’s visibility and attract more customers.
